Food Donation Bins
A program that facilitates donations of nonperishable food in Melrose through ongoing donation bins hosted in six Melrose businesses, one Saugus business, and one Wakefield business.

5000 pounds of food are collected annually through The Food Drive’s ongoing Food Donation bins. Items from all collection points are delivered primarily to the two Melrose food pantries, Pantry of Hope at First Baptist Church in downtown Melrose, and A Servant’s Heart Food Pantry at Faith Evangelical Church in Melrose Highlands
The Food Drive regularly promotes specific collections for the bins based on the season, including “Peanut Butter Valentines” in February, Easter holiday items in the spring, a massive redistribution of extra Halloween candy in the fall, and Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner drives. Other themed drives include breakfast items, backpack snacks, birthday cake kits, cooking oil collection, and kitchen essentials.
